Precambrian Time is the longest Era out of four. Precambrian time or the “Age of Early Life” started 4.6 BYA and ended 544 MYA. The climate in the precambrian time is much different from the climate we know of today. The climate varied, it could be very very cold one month and very very warm the next. By the end of the time period the climate was very cold. It ended up being a global ice age. Earth’s continents were also very different to what is called our modern continents. Before life could exist the earth was a giant molten rock which over time the surface cooled. When the surface cooled a layer of rock called the crust. When it was so warm there was no water because it would evaporate. When the Earth cooled all the water vapor in the air fell to the ground as rain. It rained for thousands of years.
Precambrian Time or “ Age of Early Life” was the time when life finally started. It all started with the first organisum which was microsopic bacteria. When the bacteria evolved ,they used photosynthesis because there chemical fuel was disappearing. If they hadn’t used photosynthesis they would have died. After they evolved they became classified as plants. The organisms kept evolving and soon sponges, cnidarians(non living jellyfish like creatures),annelids(worms)and algae became common. As they evolved it still had to come to an end. The Vendian extinction marked the end of many species. The Vendian extinction was a global ice age. Which led to the extinction of many animals.
